Dot Day

Posted on 09/13/2019
Ms. Wilson, ILS/Librarian, spearheaded International Dot Day which was celebrated on Friday, September 13.  International Dot Day is named for the classic Peter H. Reynolds book titled The Dot. It is a story about a girl who begins a journey of self-discovery after a caring teacher challenges her to “make her mark.”  The day began with students completing the “What can you create with a dot?” activity in the library.  The students came up with some very creative ideas.  Ms. Taylor, Art Teacher, also had her students "make their mark" with some abstract dot art pieces.  Everyone, faculty and students, were asked to wear polka dots.  Students who wore polka dots were entered into a drawing to receive a copy of The Dot‚Äč book, certificate and treat.  Faculty who wore polka dots received a treat as well.  Students and faculty, alike, said International Dot Day was a fun day!!
